SARAH PATTINSON

 

A Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a Member of the RICS, Sarah Pattinson is a senior partner of gb² with almost twenty five years of experience within the construction industry having worked in professional practices. Sarah’s career has included providing a wide range of pre and post contract quantity surveying services on a variety of projects. Sarah now specialises in the provision of independent expert opinion in the fields of quantity surveying, procurement and contract advice together with undertaking extensive forensic investigation of quantum disputes.

 

Sarah qualified at a well renowned Private Quantity Surveying practice and spent a large part of her career becoming experienced in the practice, procedures and methods of procurement, tendering, contract administration and cost management. She applies her traditional quantity surveying skills to dispute avoidance and to forensic examination of a wide range of engineering and construction disputes within the field of expert examination.

 

Sarah’s more recent experience includes the appointments as quantum expert undertaking forensic investigations and preparation of independent expert reports on matters of quantum for complex engineering and construction disputes concerning measurement, procurement, valuation of final accounts, variations, loss and expense/ prolongation and disruption, Sarah has testified numerous times over the recent past in the High Court of Justice in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and in International Arbitrations under ICC and DIFC-LCIA Rules.

 

Sarah’s experience includes:

• High Court of Justice, Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, appointed by the Employer as Quantum Expert providing written expert reports and oral evidence to the High Court in respect of four infrastructure roads and services projects let under FIDIC forms of contract;

• International arbitration, LNG plant in the Middle East.  Appointed by the Contractor as Quantum Expert providing written expert reports and oral evidence in respect of claims for disruption, prolongation, variations and other miscellaneous claims.;

• International arbitration, Infrastructure, services and civils works for a major airport in the Middle East.  Appointed by the Joint Venture Contractor to undertake a forensic investigation and provide expert opinion in respect of the alleged disruption on the works.

• International arbitration, major infrastructure project, North Africa. Appointed as Quantum Expert for the Respondents in a dispute regarding variations, disruption, and assessment of damages in respect of various alleged breaches of contract, sums in dispute circa US$500m.  ICC Arbitration. Evidence provided to the Arbitral Tribunal.
