ANDREW SIMPSON

 

Andrew Simpson is a partner of gb2, he has experience in the construction industry working as a Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor within both consulting and contracting organisations.

 

Andrew has worked on a range of large-scale infrastructure contracts and has particular experience of oil and gas, highways, water treatment and power generation projects. Andrew’s broad range of experience provides him with a particular awareness of the key commercial aspects necessary for the successful delivery of projects including such elements as procurement, cost management and forecasting, value engineering and, change control / management. Andrew has particular experience of the New Engineering Contract standard forms and has delivered training and bespoke advice to a number of clients around this subject area.

 

Andrew now works in the field of dispute resolution where he provides expert quantum services.

 

Andrew’s experience includes:

• International arbitration, sewage treatment works, Middle East: multi million US$ claims for additional measured work, prolongation costs, defective works, loss of overheads and profit;

• International arbitration, process plant, South Africa: multi million US$ claims for delay and disruption;

• International arbitration, power station, EU: multi million US$ claims for prolongation costs, and the cost of completing the works post-termination;

• International arbitration, oil and gas pipeline, Middle East: billion US$ claim relating to the re-measurement of the works and application of 'star-rates';

• Cost audit, off shore oil and gas project, Nigeria: multi US$Bn subsea field development with numerous high value change orders.
