COLIN BYFORD

 

A Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a Fellow of the RICS, Colin Byford is a founder partner of gb2. He specialises in quantity surveying, procurement advice and forensic investigations.

Colin trained in the estimating department of main contractor and as a site- based quantity surveyor. Colin has also worked in private practice as a project quantity surveyor. Over the last 24 years Colin has specialised in providing consultancy services to the engineering and construction industry, acting for owners, clients, contractors, subcontractors, insurers and other construction stakeholders.

 

Colin provides independent expert quantum witness testimony to court, arbitration and adjudication tribunals. He has also been appointed to undertake various cost and project audits.

 

Colin's experience includes:

• Arbitration, refit of a semi submersible rig: valuation of claims for delay, disruption and extra work;

• Arbitration, irrigation works Uzbekistan: valuation of claims for termination, delay and disruption;

• TCC, dismantling platforms: valuation of claims for termination;

• TCC, low-rise residential block: valuation of defects

• Cost audit, off shore oil and gas project, Nigeria: multi US$Bn subsea field development with numerous high value change orders.
