JOSH EASON

A Chartered Quantity Surveyor with Member status at the RICS, Josh is a Senior Consultant at gb2 with over 13 years’ experience in the construction industry. Josh has built his experience working at two top tier UK main contractors where he developed from a trainee to a senior surveyor as well as his own consultancy.

 

He has worked on projects in the commercial, custodial, data centre, education, energy from waste, health and tunnelling sectors where he was responsible for the complete commercial management from pre-contract to project delivery and post-completion. Josh has experience of working with various forms of contract and methods of procurement including the JCT suite of contracts, NEC3, NEC4, bespoke forms of contract, P21+ framework, PFI and design and build.

 

Areas of Expertise

Josh specialises in the mechanical and electrical field however he has gained overall experience in all aspects of construction projects. Through this experience, Josh has become well-versed in practice and procedure, contract administration, cost management, change control and dispute avoidance procedures.

 

Josh’s selected experience has involved assisting Lead Experts in the forensic analysis and assessment of different types of heads of claim working on the following cases:

 

  • Technology and Construction Court (TCC), Energy from Waste plant: multi-million sterling claim concerning valuation for costs to complete the works following termination of the main contract.

  • UNCITRAL Arbitration, seat of Arbitration in London, Gas Field Development Project: multi-million USD claim concerning claims for variations, disruption, prolongation and other miscellaneous claims.

  • Expert Determination, Fish Market Development: multi-million AUD claim concerning claims for variations.

  • Dispute Adjudication Board referral, Hydropower project: multi-million USD claim concerning the valuation of the Contractor's entitlements following the Employer's wrongful termination of the contract.

  • Major road upgrade: multi-million AUD claim concerning the quantification of construction costs and project claims.

  • UK Supreme Court case, Harbour project: multi-million sterling claim concerning losses associated with the removal and replacement of non-compliant supplied materials.

  • UK High Court case, Student Accommodation development: multi-million sterling claim concerning recovery of defect rectification costs.

  • Residential development: multi-million sterling claim concerning recovery of defect rectification costs.
