MICHELLE HAYES

 

A Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a Member of the RICS, Michelle Hayes is a partner of gb2 with over twenty five years’ experience within the construction industry, having worked for main contractors both in the UK and the USA. Michelle specialises in quantity surveying, forensic investigation, procurement and contract advice.

 

Michelle trained and qualified with a main contractor and spent 15 years on construction sites. Over the last 10 years Michelle has specialised in providing consultancy services to the engineering and construction industry, acting for owners, contractors, sub-contractors and insurers.

 

Michelle has provided contractual, technical and strategic advice on live projects and in dispute resolution. She has provided forensic investigation and been named assistant supporting Quantum Experts appointed in litigation and arbitration under UK and ICC rules for a broad spectrum of disputes including professional negligence and delay and disruption cases.

 

Michelle's experience includes:

• TCC, iconic skyscraper: multi-million sterling claims for constructive acceleration, delay, disruption, defective works and extra work;

• TCC, major national stadium: multi-million sterling claims in relation to professional negligence, and claims referable to the structural steelwork and delay and disruption;

• Arbitration, liquefied natural gas plant, UK: claims concerning the valuation of variations, delay and disruption;

• International arbitration, motorway works, Romania: valuation of the works at termination, including the evaluation of the contract works, claims for delay, demobilization, repatriation, overheads and loss of profit.
