Developed an as planned versus as-built delay analysis to identify delays to the EPC Contractor’s schedule, involving events concerning 3 compression hubs, 175 wellpads, and 2 sets of gas gathering lines. The referees and the Court preferred GBsqd’s disruption and productivity evidence over that of the opposing experts. The decision reflects GBsqd’s ability to provide clear, rigorous and independent expert analysis in the most complex disputes.
Hyperscale and Colocation data centres (Europe) – Appointed as delay experts on multiple data centre projects in Europe including Colocation and Hyperscale data centres. The engagements varied from arbitration and adjudication to providing independent advice on live projects. The APAB windows and time-slice analysis methods were used to assess critical delays in the fit out stage such as design, procurement and access issues as well as later delays during commissioning and handing over.
Twin towers, UAE – Appointed as the quantum experts in a DIFC LCIA arbitration acting for the main contractor claimant. The main contractor claimed for the valuation of the works at termination including claims for disputed variations, prolongation including subcontractor claims. The developer counterclaimed for the cost of completing the works and making good defects. The amount in dispute between the parties and dealt with in the expert reports exceeded AED 1bn. Independent expert quantum evidence was provided at two separate hearings in UAE. The first hearing dealt with all issues save for the cost of making good defects which were dealt with at the second hearing.
Sub-sea drilling contract, off shore western Africa: Appointed as the quantum expert in an LCIA arbitration for the sub-sea drilling contractor claimant. The drilling contractor claimed for losses arising from the wrongful termination of the contract. The field operator counterclaimed for the additional costs arising from the termination of the contractor including the costs arising from an additional campaign for completing the works. The amount in dispute between the parties and dealt with in the expert reports exceeded GBP 150m. Independent expert quantum evidence was provided at the hearing in London.
